Kistormás – Nature and Fishing Combined

Kistormás is a quiet, idyllic village in Tolna County, where nature is still untouched, the air is fresh, and the landscape invites you to unwind. Here, you truly hear only the sounds of nature, far from the noise of main roads.

How It All Began

Over the past decades, we visited numerous fishing lakes both in Hungary and abroad. These experiences helped us clearly understand what kind of lake and conditions we would enjoy for a multi-day fishing trip.

There are basic needs and comfort features that make a multi-day fishing trip enjoyable in spring, summer, or autumn alike.

We wanted to create a fishing lake where nature and comfort meet.

A place where both anglers and their family members, who may not fish but love the angler, can enjoy themselves. Or maybe someone just wants a few days in a house on the water.

We spent years finding the perfect lake, one with natural beauty, the right size, easy accessibility, abundant water supply, and nearby utilities.

Iglice Stilt Houses nestle directly next to the village in a valley surrounded by hills.

Located at the end of the paved Dózsa György Street in Kistormás, the complex consists of two lakes and 5 plots. We rear fish in the upper 41-hectare pond, and the 19-hectare lower pond hosts the Iglice Stilt Houses. Thanks to the large catchment area, the water supply is guaranteed, with the upper pond ensuring the lower fishing pond maintains the correct water level.

This is how Iglice Stilt Houses are made – from anglers, for anglers.

How It All Began

Wildlife and Fish

The Hidas Stream’s aquatic life and the surrounding forests’ wild atmosphere create a uniquely rich ecosystem. Waterfowl, herons, egrets, and wild ducks inhabit the shores, while the reeds reveal the peacefulness of the area.

Iglice Stilt Houses is not just a lake – it’s an experience where you can fish directly from your own pier.

What kind of fish awaits visitors? We are eager to know too. For construction, the lower lake was drained nearly 4 years ago. Our fish were moved to the upper pond, and over the years we regularly purchased additional fish to maintain stock.

The fish population consists mainly of carp and grass carp, with some catfish and pike. Carp usually weigh between 5 and 15 kg, while grass carp are between 5 and 20 kg.

It is important to know these fish have grown undisturbed and have not yet encountered anglers.

We will have exact details on the fish stock in winter 2025, when the upper pond is harvested, the fish sorted, and returned to their old-new home in the replenished lower lake.

We will share live updates of this event.

A helping hand is always welcome during a harvest – you might even take part in this hard work. Follow our Facebook page for details!
